Hair Loss
Male hair loss is well known for its commoness and there aren't many men who will escape thinning hair, receding hairline, or some degree of baldness at some point in their lives. For many people losing their hair is a frustrating experience and this includes women too. Women do lose their hair in surprisingly large numbers-more than 20 million women according to the American Hair Loss Council. It's just that excessive female hair loss is less obvious and very rarely talked about. And although hair loss usually strikes after menopause, at least 5 million women under age 40 are experiencing it and 20 percent of those suffer an onset as early as puberty. A past president of the American Acadmey of Dermatology has noted, "I can't think of another condition that is so common and it's so off limits for public dialogue. Sadly, this only serves to isolate women making it harder for them to take action when in reality we can do many things to stop hair loss and even regrow hair."
Clear Complexions Rx agrees with this and has branched out with hair loss treatments that we feel live up to our high standards of safety and efficacy.
Hair loss treatments first took off in 1988 when the FDA approved minoxidil (brand name Rogaine) as the first product proven to regrow hair in adults. Rogaine was a watershed because for the first time the public learned that hair loss was treatable. Minoxidil 5% topical solution is available from Clear Complexions at $27 for a 60ml two pack. Both men and women may use the 5% strength. In the product section you may also note our propietary shampoo and conditioner that can also be incorporated in a hair regrowth system. Note in addition our propietary hair regrowth serum. Another effective option that Clear Complexions Rx has seen impressive results is Vivscal Professional Tablets, and the recently introduced innovative Viviscal serum. These professional versions are the strongest of the Viviscal hair growth line and can be bought in our products section. (See brochure below). A combination of products in the treatment approach has the best efficacy.
Do you know what the medical term is for split ends? Its called trichoptolosis. Impress your friends with your knowledge! Viviscal can prevent the progression of hair damage that includes splits ends. We also carry an interesting product by Viviscal called Viviscal Hair Filler Fibers. This is a new approach to hair loss utilizing microscopic electrically charged fibers that stick to hair and create a volumizing appearance. One simply taps the fibers on the dry scalp until a bald or thinning area is no longer visible. This is for all types of hair loss in men and women. For longer lasting results, you can apply any hairspray that you like over the fibers. The product is very easy to apply and will not come off in the rain or wind. Although it is considered temporary and you would wash it off at the end of the day, it's easy to wash off with any shampoo. An ideal approach that is particularly useful for thinning hair. Be sure to comb your hair prior to applying the hair filler fibers so that they are touched as little as possible to prevent any interference with their coming off (See brochure below). The hair filler fibers are $23 for a bottle. Please let us know which of the 6 different colors is most suitable for you.
Tarsum professional medicated shampoo/gel that we carry is particularly effective in the treatment of seborriach dermatitis which can on occasion can exacerbate hair loss.
